Nassim Haramein recently posted this on his Facebook wall and I'm interested on how the flower of life was able to go around the globe. How do you do this in Gimp?

Followed this tutorial that I created a while back (yes; still used Simple's Diamond preset but it has to be perfectly square so I resized the pattern to be square; G'MIC can now do this by the way, but the filter's faster still):

In order to make this look more appealing I have to do it on a large resolution.

The filter used is Apply Lens

I try to follow your tut

1. Filters>Map>Small tile
2. Layer>Trasform>Offset Layer
3. in XnView applied 8BF Simple>Diamonts (Ctrl+G)
4. Filters>Generic>Mathmap>Distort>Sphere

Simple filters are cool. I actually use the Diamonds preset twice for the background layer. Again, G'MIC can now do this but, like Diamond's preset, the original needs to be perfectly square in order to create seamless (or other headaches in G'MICs case).

IS is just me, or does scrolling this webpage image make Marcello's image a few posts back look like the sphere is rolling on the page?
