Overwriting all images at once

If I have multiple independent images opened at once, is it possible to overwrite all of them to their own original files respectively at once? I believe you can do this with layers, but not with images

If you open multiple image as layers, then save each layer as it's own PNG image, but I'm not sure if this will overwrite the original images or not.
If you have multiple images open independently, I don't think this is possible. Maybe this can be done with Batch Processing, but I'm not sure.

There are scripts that save layers to independent files and they likely overwrite existing files.

Doing the same for image would also require some script.

However, holding Ctrl and going S-W-S-W-S-W... quickly saves/exits all open images. if you don't want to close the images, replace W by any keyboard shortcut you define for function "windows-show-display-next".

Though not exactly what you describe, the following script allows editing of several different files sequentially, saving your edits of one image, closing it, and then opening the next.

Maybe over-writing multiple images is not available for a good reason - as a foolproof measure for
preventing huge mistakes by single mouse click.
