GIMP Experience: Beginner Level


Hiya....a while back someone posted a way of extracting images from a background using a tool in Gmic and I cannot remember where I saw it and what it was called...can anybody help please?

Not working for me but see I need to update Gmic. Can someone tell me please where the best place to download the latest Gimp and Gmic from. I see there are loads of builds and it gets confusing. My OS is Windows7 64bit.
