I want Gimp 2.8.10 or lower lol - Help please? :X

GIMP Version: 2.8.14
Operating System: Windows
GIMP Experience: Beginner Level

Haiii! I have Gimp 2.8.14 and I hate it with a passion. lol
It has lots of bugs and I really want another version of GIMP.
I went to the GIMP site but all I could find is a bunch of .tar files and I have no clue what I'm supposed to do with that as I can't extract it so...:S

Can somebody help me? :oops:

I don't want to download a virus so I figured people here would know a place that won't infest me with viruses. :mrgreen:

There are still a few mirrors around for pre Gimp 2.8.10 (was it) when sourceforge was dropped.

If you have the time, Mokonafan, please make a list of the bugs you are encountering in 2.8.14 and post them. That way other people can check whether the bug exists for all platforms or just Windows, and whether or not the bug has been reported to the developers.

Just in case anyone interested in historic versions, the links I posted earlier contain versions going back to 0.99

Do not be put off by source code packages, there will be a windows section somewhere

I'm gonna try 2.6 again if I can get used to not having windowed mode I'll probably stick with that. Thanks Wallace!

Good idea Saulgoode. I am running 2.8.14 in Fedora-21 and I have no bugs to report. Everything seems to be running smoothly.

I'd be remiss if I didn't chime in with the same sentiment as saulgoode.

The only way for bugs to be fixed is if they are found and reported. This is the best way to help the project as a whole if you aren't directly contributing in some other way. If you find a problem, report it so it can be fixed!

Normally 2.8.14 has less bugs than 2.8.10 (this is just a maintenance release). OK, they screwed up the first Windows build but the 2nd was OK. And the cursor slowness with big images can be circumvented by just backing out a couple of libraries to 2.8.10 levels.
