How to create a collage

GIMP Experience: New User

How can I create a collage of digital photos with a specific height and width, so I can print it as a poster? Are there tutorials for this?

Hi phillybike, You may open your photos one in each layer and then go to G'MIC - Arrays & Tiles - Montage. There you can choose the layout you like.

All i can tell you is I did a collage of me and my friends of our camping trip in Penticton BC Canada.
And I got it printed at London Drugs, and I had to make multiple trips because first time I went my image was too low res to print it big..and then i came back with super high-res and they said that's too high res so i had to do another one...
So I suggest saving multiple versions/resolution. so you don't have to make multiple trips to the printer(whoever is printing it for you).

As far as collage go, just open images as layers and move them around, rescale them if you want to fit in odd place, make selections and cut them there's so much freedom it's hard to explain how to do a collage because there's so many possible personal details that are totally up to you.
