How to fix ripped fishnet stockings in a photo?

GIMP Version: 2.8.14
Operating System: Windows
GIMP Experience: New User

I can't figure out how to best fix these stockings in gimp. Do I copy a good area and paste it onto the bad one and resize and rotate? Can I use the clone tool somehow?

You will not be able to upload images directly until you have made at least 5 posts. In the meantime you can upload images as attachments - use the "Full Editor" in the "Quick Reply" box and then, below the "Post a reply" box, the "Upload attachment" box.

jdiggitydogg: i think i would have used the clone tool on this, maybe reinforced by some copy-pasting of certain details. i guess it's a question of what method you feel most comfortable with yourself.

Copying, cloning, healing, cage tool, iwarp. In other words, work. Still needs some additional tlc though.

Same. Copy, Paste, Rotate, and abit of cloning. And to make it absolutely right, you also have to move back in place the two knots (left and right) that have moved further out.

Lyle, you've given me some hope! Your edit looks pretty darn good. I also didn't know about cage transform. That ought to help me out as well.

Thanks for the comments. The cage transform tool isn't a panacea by any stretch, but for small selections, it can help a lot.
