Hi, new here. Need a bit of help blending two images. So I try to blend 2 images using the old Layer Mask -> Gradient trick, and for some odd reason it doesn't fade the images. It just cuts one image to the other without fading/blending anything. Maybe my Gimp configuration is faulty or something, but I've no clue why it doesn't want to fade 2 pics. Any help would be much appreciated, Thanks.

The gradient you have selected is "FG to BG (Hardedge)"
Try using "FG to BG (RGB)"
