GIMP Version: 2.8.14
Operating System: Windows
OS Version: Windows 8.1
GIMP Experience: Basic Level


My default font is San 16, and I would like it to be Arial 36. Is there a way to change the default to this ?

Change your font in the Text Tool.
Go to Edit>Preferences>Tool Options, click on "Save Tool Options Now".
Note:This will save what your current tool options are, displaying these tool option sets when you restart Gimp.
