Can anyone recommend a free or low price desktop publishing software?

GIMP Version: 2.8.14
Operating System: Windows
GIMP Experience: Basic Level

Hello I am a new blogger and I've come to the point where I shall need a desktop publishing program. Can anyone tell me of a free or low price one for Windows 7 / 8?

No experience with this program, but Scribus is an open source program that's been around for a while now.

You could try OpenOffice. http://www.tutorialsforopenoffice.org/
It's free and very easy to learn. Scribus is great also.

Another option for Windows is the free version of Serif PagePlus (Starter Edition). It's not open source, but it is a full-featured program and not just a demo. It's easy to get started with and yields good results. http://www.serif.com/desktop-publishing-software/

Depends on what your needs are, but just for your information, The Gimp Magazine is done with Scribus I'm pretty sure.
