Change background to white color

GIMP Experience: Intermediate Level

Hello.
One friend asked if I can help him to change background color on this image. I have done this before in Gimp but I forget how.
He wants plain white color.

I used the select by color on the blue background and hit delete to get this

I have been using gimp for a long time, now i know how to remove background color using select by color, most of the time i used the fuzzy select to remove background. GIMP CHAT FORUMS helps a lot.
