GIMP, G'MIC, Seamless Blend

GIMP Version: 2.8.14
Operating System: Mac OS
GIMP Experience: New User

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me out. I've seen the beautiful photos created using seamless blend where they actually look real; however, I'm not having the same luck.

Regardless of background, any time I put a person in a new photo and choose "seamless blend", it provides me with a photo with a weird glow/lighting (sometimes TOO bright or TOO dark) around it, not blending at all.

I have version 2.8 GIMP and as someone else mentioned, my seamless blend has options I didn't see in youtube videos, such as, "Inner and Outer fading".

Any insight on how I can achieve better results? As far as I know, I have everything up-to-date.

If photos are needed for reference then don't hesitate to let me know.

seamless blend sounds great, where is the filter found in the gimp menus?

I found it in G'MIC > Layers > Blend (seamless)

When applying the seamless blend don't forget to have 'all layers' in the input area.

in G'MIC 1.5.7.1 is not installed. Could you tell me something?

Make sure 'Outer Fading' is set to 0 (default is 25). That will remove the glow around whatever object you're blending. Alternatively, check 'Output as separate layers' and then remove as much/little of the the glow you want with the eraser tool.
