I found an icon theme I like but I need to change the color to match the GTK and xfce themes I already have. I found out I can get a nearly perfect color by simply tweaking the hue value under Colors>Hue-Saturation. I've done quite a few manually and I really hope I can simplify the process. This isn't one of those times where I can just Crtl-F to repeat an action. Is there a script that will let me alter the hue and then overwrite each open image?

Right now, this is what I'm doing;
1. Open all the appropriate icons in the folder as separate images in GIMP.
2. Change the hue of the first image.
3. Overwrite the altered image.
4. Close the image, discarding changes.
5. Move to the next image.
6. Back to step 2 until all the images have been changed.

It's not complicated or difficult. But there are multiple folders with dozens of icons in each. I would really prefer not to spend the next several hours doing this all manually if I can automate it. Or at least make it so I can use a hotkey to change the hue somehow.

My distro has it in the repository, easy install But will that overwrite the files in their current locations? Or will I have to manually relocate the files afterwards. I don't want new files, just the old files fixed where they are.

Works fabulously. I just have to be careful about which images I try to modify. Some need extra tweaks that can't be done in batch form.

BIMP made that task so much easier. I don't know how many icons I altered, but it was a bunch. The only issue I had was that BIMP has zero memory. I couldn't just repeat the last action like other filters. And it didn't even keep track of what the last action was. Every time I ran it on a new batch of icons I had to go through all the dialogs again, all the way to looking for the folder where I stored the preset. This was even when I did batches consecutively with no other actions in between. So it was quicker to do two or three manipulations manually rather than with BIMP. Once I got beyond four or so, BIMP was definitely faster. But I was only doing a very simple color change. So with a few new hotkeys I was rather quick at the manual tweaks.

Still, a great tool that I'll definitely be experimenting with more in the future. Thanks for alerting me to it, Graechan.
