I have problem with my printer when printing black and white. I will have a color cast even if I checked the box for greyscale printing. I understand that my Canon printer MG7750 are using also colors when printing black and white. In my Canon printer driver I can not correct the output for colorcast when printing black and white.
I understand for Linux there is a printer driver called Gutenprint which can handle this.'But is there something similar for windows where I can adjust the output to the printer and have really black and white prints.
Anyone know any plugin whick can handle this??

I use Linux now and of course the gutenprint plugin, but I have in the past installed the windows version and also used to have a Canon printer.

The gutenprint for windows was written for Gimp 2.6.x It does not work in Gimp 2.8.x, the plugin crashes. Just for reference, the very latest version called wingp see: https://code.google.com/archive/p/wingp ... ads?page=1 is from 2011.

Canon printers, when they work, very good, otherwise.... Have you run a default print check and alignment check? Are you converting your image to grayscale before printing?

I remember my printer would not use the black cartridge. In theory mixing C-M-Y produces black, in practice a dark muddy brown.

FWIW, my advice, do not use Gimp for printing. Try some other application, maybe XnViewMP or even LibreOffice.

If you want to stay inside Gimp (more-or-less) a possibility is the shellout plugin. Usually used for applying PS plugins but since it uses the old XnView, that prints as well. http://registry.gimp.org/node/24977
