Hi, I'm kind of new here and trying to use Gimp for designing various levels for my games (mostly platformer).

Say, I have created a coin image and place clones of it all over the place when desinging a level. And then sometime later, I happen to decide to change the shape of the coin from round to star. Now, I need to replace all the previous round shaped coins with star shaped coins.
Question: how do I do this like a magic? Or am I just doomed to do a dull task where I have to find and erase all the round coins and re-clone them with the star coin image? I'd be really glad if Gimp provides a feature that cloned images automatically have a reference to the original image so that all the changes made to the original image will also be applied to its cloned images.

Yes, you are doomed... Keeping the coins as independent layers (or at least on their own layer) would however make the problem simpler. I assume you are using the coin image as a brush?

Oh, that's a bit unfortunate. Well, at least keeping coins in a different layer would help me quite a lot though. Maybe I'll just need to stick with using more general images like gold round circle for coins, red box for enemies, etc. It's just for designing levels after all.
Thanks for the answer :)

No need to limit yourself on the image complexity... If these images are under 512px (or is it 1024px now?) make them brushes. Then, with the paint brush, one click, one image...

I have made brushes of 2500px or bigger. Work fine. Patterns are limited 1024.
