Hello,

Is there any plugin/feature by which images in Gimp can be vertically rotated i.e along Z Azis? See image in subject link of the post for reference.

Thanks

There's also a python plugin that does even more (rotates, scales, and move) but I cannot find it at the moment so maybe someone else here can find it. :)

From the read of it, I believe this only does X-Y plain rotaions. I am looking at Z plain rotation.

Thanks

In Filters map object make your picture a 'plane' keeping it flat then you can orientate it by Z

Also in the GMIC plugin you can do it. In Rendering 3D image.

Depends what you are looking to do.

Possibly GMIC will have a filter that does something similar, I think perhaps G'MIC>Deformations>Perspective, you can keep the 'Boundary' as transparent (or otherwise repeated..) and mess with the X/Y axes, offsets etc to perform a 'virtual' Z axis adjustment.

Advertising apart, surely the Gimp tool is Filters -> Map -> Map Object -> As Plane

Which allows rotation on the 'z' axis

Image

..and gives this

What Gimp can not do is guess the missing bits. For rotation of a 3D object something like Blender is required.

Well this works pretty good. Blender ofcourse, but just incase i have 2d image(png), it would still be the same case, in Blender, I guess. This is a quick fire solution. I understand not the best for sure.
