Layer Effects

GIMP Version: 2.10.4
Operating System: Windows
GIMP Experience: New User

I miss having Layer Effects.
When I run color overlay it throws an error.
When I run gradient overlay it throws an error.
I've tried the py plugin version and can't find the script version.
Is their any way this will work on 2.10 ?

Are you saying the python version does not work?
I have hard time to believe that, I used 2.10.0-2.10.2 but not toying with 2.10 releases currently.

In 2.10, the python version of the Colour Picker is broken.

It works on Samj portable with some warnings but not on the standard windows installation.
The gradient overly doesn't throw an error as I said earlier, it just won't let me pick a gradient other than the default one it comes up with.

Not true in Linux. The Layer Effects Python plugin works perfectly fine. Tested here in Gimp 2.10.5 AppImage...

I'm on Windows 10.
I don't know what Gimp 2.10.5 AppImage is.

Not to worry. it's worked perfectly fine since Gimp 2.10.0 onward. AppImage is a Linux version of "Portable" in Windows. Needless to say, this seems to be a "Windows" only issue. No idea why you are having any issues with LayerFX plugin.

Weather I use an AppImage, FlatPak or a Compiled version of Gimp, No issues with LayerFX Whatsoever...

I just downloaded and tried out Partha's portable version and everything is working on it.
It is version 2.10.2
I don't know if that made a difference but I'm happy.
