need help with exporting

im trying to stretch an image to use as a banner but it just wont stay stretched when i try to export it

i searched how to stretch an image downloaded gimp i use the scale tool to stretch out the image to make a banner but when i export it goes undos the stretch i dont know what im doing wrong

If you want to stretch the whole image, use Image>Scale image (and unlink H/V dimensions).
