I'm having problems with a font set that I installed ages ago and it worked then. Now I seem to get duplicates of the heavy version in the list and can't find the normal one. I uninstalled the font set in question, restarted GIMP, and checked the list and they're still there.

I've looked inside the font folder inside the GIMP folder and there are no versions of the font in there.

I tried uninstalling 2.10.2 and installing 2.10.6 instead. The fonts are still on the list.

I've checked other programs. The fonts are gone from their lists.

How do I remove the fonts from the GIMP font list?

You need to delete and build the font cache if I'm right.
Steps 1-7 of this tutorial should fix it.

edit: Or you could try CCleaner, it includes font cache cleaner in the settings.

Just realized having double entries on my Xubuntu Gimp 2.10.6, but it's so easy with a simple terminal command "sudo fc-cache -f -v"

Thanks! Unfortunately I couldn't get step 4 to work; I get the "these are open in a program" message, even though all I have open is the file window. I'll try it in safe mode, that might work.
