Hi HPE007. I work a lot with Powerpoint and there is a way to do it. You have to Group the Objects:
1. Click on one of the object press and hold the Ctrl key. Now holding the Ctrl key click on all the other objects to select each one until you have all selected.

2. On the top menu of the Powerpoint click on Format, the click on Group and select Goup. That will group all your Object into one Object.

3. Right click on the the selection of the Object and save it as PNG. That is it, and just open it in Gimp and you should have a transparency in your Image. I hope this help you.
