Good morning guys...I know I've not been around in a few..been busy busy..and my son thats in Air Force has been home on leave...can't believe the brat turned 21 today... makes me feel old..and got to see baby girl moving around in momma's belly...way cool.

anyhoo...I have a webcam we use for skyping with son...and I need to make a video showing how to add text to bottle cap images..don't think I want sound..just not sure..any suggestions?

Screen recorders work better than webcams in that it captures the entire screen and just the screen with excellent quality, where a webcam will catch all the lights and reflections that bounce off your monitor and also have a grainy appearance, making it harder for others to see and read.

I installed BRS the other day and it asked for a registration key and said trial on the installer.I installed it and it seems to be working real great.Just not sure if it's going to quit working in 15-30 days

Fast Stone Capture allows you to create movies.I paid 9 dollars to get the newest version with movie recorder.
Wink is another good one for Windows systems.It is Freeware

Both are easy to use.

If you want something fancy try CamStudio which is Freeware.

Camstudio is the best free one and very easy to use. You can record with and without audio. http://camstudio.org/

Camtasia Studio is very pricey but their codec can be had for free on their website. Look for it. I think there's a clause in the licence agreement that you can only use it if you need to for compatibity with their software.
Basically if you ever intent anyone who has Camtasia Studio to edit your videos then I think you're all fine licence wise. I think... I'm no laywer.

Camstudio's own codec doesn't play well in VLC player, so that's why I recommend the above one.

I recommend you set Camtasia to pan so the file won't be so big. Set the panning speed on the low side.
