ok here's what happen, it was working fine until i downloaded some brushes now when i try to load gimp it freezes my pc , i thought it might be a virus so a scan all the folds in gimp, i reinstalled the software i even spent two days doing maintenance and multiple malware scans thinking it might be my pc, and it still won't open. i don't understand what could be the problem. this is really frustrating!!!!!

OK, I am going to go out on a limb here since you don't provide a lot of details. Have you tried deleting the brushes to see if that is the problem?

no i didn't try that yet i'll try that next, i thought it was pretty straight forth i didn't know what other details to put down, i install some new brushes oh and i forgot i also added so more scm i can't remember the name of the though.

My GIMP 2.6x started freezing since I upgraded to Win7 64-bit (from XP). Lived with it and tolerated, but I do have hope that Partha's 64-bit 2.7.3 won't freeze (what little I've actually used in 2.7.3, I have not experienced a freeze issue yet).

I found that my GIMP would freeze up a lot after I started adding more brushes. It took a bit to figure out that it was the brushes causing it. I think there is some kind of brush manager out there, but I don't feel like figuring it out.

I "manage" my brushes by separating them into rough categories and putting the ones I don't need at the time in another folder, leaving the ones I need in the Brushes folder. When I need different ones, I take out the unneeded brushes from the Brushes folder, and put in the ones I want.

It's not entirely convenient, but I've lost a lot of time and work from GIMP freezing, so it's worth it.

Gimps Uniform Resource Manager (GURM for short), is not that hard to set up.It just requires you to make a few new folders and edit one text file.
It is well worth it if you want to add brushes, gradients, scripts, and patterns to Gimp after it has been started.
You can also remove them before you shut down and that lets Gimp start just as fast the next time around.

This is the best way to do it i have found. (windows)
Create a new folder named GIMP in the C directory
In this new GIMP folder create 4 new folders named
Brushes
Scripts
Patterns
Gradients
In each of these folders you can create sub folders and GURM will see them.
Like in Brushes folder you can create new folders named splatter brushes - circle brushes - blood brushes - tree brushes and so on and add just those brushes to each new category sub folder.
Download the GURM install package and open the config file (ini)
Edit the paths to relate to where you created your new folders (you need only add the path to the main folder for each item) for instance you have no need to add the path to Brushes/splatter brushes.Just add the path to the Brushes folder and GURM will see the other sub folders automatically.

You only need to set it up once and every install after that will already be set up.
Provided you place the plug-in and ini file in the user directory folder gimp-2.6/plugins

The beauty is you can keep adding sub folders with new brush sets and there is no need to set the ini file again.
The filter rocks in my opinion.And it's well worth setting up one time.

Just thought i would add a quick example of what GURM looks like running.
I also forgot to mention you should create a main palettes folder too.
You will also need Python-Fu installed.
