When I create a mask using the Fuzzy Select Tool, how do I remove that mask and continue editing an entire image, rather than only the masked area? Other software I use has that ability, but I cannot find the same in GIMP.

As easy as "Select > None" (or Ctrl-Shift-A, which is a very standard shortcut for this in all kind of applications: browsers, word processors, file explorers... )
