False Positive?

GIMP Version: 2.8
Operating System: Windows
OS Version: W7
GIMP Experience: Intermediate Level

Has anyone got a false positive virus report from Gimp? Just installed 2.8. Got it from the developers site and Comodo show the viruses shown in the attachment.

I assuming/hoping that these are just false positives.

I am just referring to my experience. I don't use Comodo anymore but I understand they are known for false positives. My only advise would be to try another Anti-Virus software to see if you get the same results.
Avast has been the top of my list for the past 5 years.

I agree with Molly. I used to have all kinds of problems and had four or five programs that I ran consecutively in order to try and "catch everything". SpyBot, MalwareBytes, Zone Alarm, and others.

I installed just the freeware version of Avast a couple of years ago and I have yet to have a problem. It has given me a couple of virus/trojan alerts when surfing the web so I just get off that page and everything is OK.

Indeed.....I will try another AV today when I get home tonight. Thanks!

Anyone else experience this with Comodo or any other AV?

I use mainly malwarebytes and Microsoft security essentials. Malwarebytes is excellent and as much as I hate to admit it Microsoft security essentials seems to be doing well too. Like Molly, I found that Comodo was overly aggressive and avast wasn't aggressive enough. I've installed 2.8 and the portable version of haven't gotten a peep out of either av.
