Clone tool not cloning correct colour

Operating System: Windows
OS Version: Windows 10
GIMP Experience: Basic Level

Have been using GIMP quite happily for about a year. Recently the layers are not working and now when I use the clone tool, the section cloned is different to the one I selected.

Maybe you need to 'reset' your tools.
You also need to make sure there are no 'selections - marching ants' outside the area where you want to work. If you cannot see any, go to selection in the top menu and click on none if it is not greyed out

You're welcome. Easy to get tripped up on the extra selection. Stops a lot of tools working as they should.
