I'm stumped. Doesn't take much as I am noobish on Gimp. Here's my problem. I've been able to use colorize in past and have even made preset of colors I want to use over and over for multiple projects. I have project file now open, its format is the gimp format. I have about 12 layers, some are open, some not. I have one layer selected and on this layer an area I want to apply the colorize, yet I cannot. Nothing happens. The selection I have used is from a path I have saved, it works fine in color fill just not in colorize.

I've tested to make sure I can colorize to a selection (thinking maybe I couldn't) I opened new file and was able to colorize it with the preset I had made.

So what gives?

Is this something that works some times and then not other times? I know I was able to use it last night, on the same file but today cannot for some reason.

Note to self, when "Colorizing" something, you have to first have a color to "ize". In this case, I did not. I was trying to colorize a transparency. Once I color filled my selection, I was able to use my preset color. Jez...

Lol, glad you got it figured out, and got a head soak too!

Oh, have I done that more than once. Tried and tried to solve a problem I was having in GIMP. Finally posted the question and then figured out the answer.

That's not all bad because others may come up with a different way of doing the same thing so in the end we all win.
