Something weird is going on with my pop-up boxes (if that's the right terminology) Whenever I hover my mouse over a function or say a tool for instance, the little "pop-up box" that comes up and tells you what it does or what it is, is empty. I'ver already tried re-installing Gimp and the same thing is happening. Anybody know what may be causing this.

My wife thinks it's a hardware problem...................the nut between the chair and the keyboard. LOL

Are you using a GIMP theme?

Mahvin is more than likely correct. Some themes can mess up little things you do not notice until you need them. :)
Especially the darker ones.

Since we're on the subject of empty popup boxes. Mine aren't empty but when you start a filter/script/plugin the dialog starts behind everything instead of on top.

Is there a setting in Gimp that governs that?

I should have added that I'm not using any themes.

This is also a bug that has to do with GTK themes.
Try a different theme and see if that fixes it.

Thanks, guys. That was it. I was using Aurora-Midnight. I changed the theme and all the text is back in the boxes now. Good to know!

Drac, I thought you were using Windows 7.

Naw, look at the top of this thread. My desktop is XP SP3, my laptop is the one that has Win 7 on it. But I only use it every once in a while.
