How do I completely uninstall the portable version from Windows 7? Of course the common sense thing to do is to just delete the whole folder but if only it was that easy. I had an error on one of the plugins (can't remember what it was now) and it seems to have affected some of the other plugins namely resynthesizer (or more correctly the Heal script in Filters|Enhance menu). Now no matter what I do, it won't show up. Yes, even deleting and reinstalling everything including the plugins. I can tell the portable version leaves behind some things since the recent menu has old entries in it. If it were truly portable, everything would be gone.

The commune sense thing, it does not leave anything behind.

anyway the portable doesn't leave things behind but the normal 2.7 version try to grab things (plugin script) from of old gimp even if unistalled)

about resynthesizer there are 2 different version around, for 32 or 64 bit and maybe that you installed is not the right one or is not complete(both versions contain several files to be installed not just one)

Like PC said, the portable version is designed not to touch your system at all. It does not leave anything behind if you delete the primary folder. So, I don't know why it would affect your system in this way. Can you provide me with more details?

The portable version creates it's own GIMP-2 DIRECTORY in itself (its own directory tree), so it doesn't leave folders in the user directory tree either.

Problem was caused by the rggjan builds. Using the regular builds solved the problem.
