Operating System: Windows
OS Version: XP - SP3
GIMP Experience: Beginner Level

I was looking around at saw this thing about the Resynthesizer it looks pretty cool but I am not sure what is the most recent versino for GIMP 2.6.11 and is there anything else I need to have installed or is it just a standard plugin/script?

Thanks.

The most recent version would be kept out on the Gimp Plugin Registry <<== Click here!

It's written in python so you'll need to have python install on your OS. And since you're a windows users you'll need to follow Rod's instructions for correctly installing python on a windows OS. I pasted in the link below!

http://gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=2277

Make sure you follow those instructions to the 'T'

The Resynthesizer once you unpack it and you'll need 7zip cause windows doesn't know what to do with a .tar.gz file. Unpack that into your c:\Documents and Settings\<what ever your username is>\.gimp-2.6\plug-ins

That should do it! I've never played with the Resynthesizer at all. Good Luck!

You have to do each step exactly has Rod has it written. You have to uninstall python before you install it again. I'd even reboot between uninstalling the pieces of python as well!

well is not exact, is not written in python but in C so you should find a compiled version.
It include some scripts written in python from there the confusion

Anyway there is a previous version that has the script in script fu , you may install that if you don't want install python

and the last version is included with the python scripts in last gimp 2.7 portable from partha you may even get that

You wouldn't have a link to the script-fu versioni? because I don't have the stamina to try python again too much hassle.
