Hi guys, so I'm trying to cut an image out with the Free Select tool. Every time I go to make my first point, the point shows up in the blank space to the side of my picture and not directly on it.

I have a picture below of what I mean. Where I clicked for the points to appear are on the picture, but where they actually appeared are outside of the picture and to the left.

Is there any way to fix it so the points appear right where I clicked and not off to the side?

I can honestly say i have never seen that behavior before now.
I will see if i can replicate it with my Gimp-2.6.11

Erised Dream, Are you using a mouse OR are you using a Wacom tablet. I had that happen when I didn't have my tablet set to pen instead of mouse in the settings.
Other than that, I am stumpted too.

That is exactly what i was thinking that the tablet was setup but off X direction a bit?

On my wacom, I have to go into control panel where I installed the software and set both mouse and pen to the pen settings. If I don't, it looked exactly like Erised Dream.

Yes two different coordinates fighting each other.I believe the system wins out on that one.
Well hopefully adjusting the two points to be the same fixes it.

I've seen this problem a lot with a mouse. If you zoom in (800% or more), you will find that the circles are where the line segments meet. It appears that the circles are often drawn a pixel to the left and/or above the real path node. (Probably a numeric truncation error.) I've fussed with this numerous times and finally came to the conclusion that it was merely an annoying visual effect and not a real issue to worry about.
