I'm back with another request

Operating System: Windows
OS Version: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
GIMP Experience: Beginner Level

Hi guys and gals,
How can I place the red circle on top of the avatar?

My tries don't work. When I try to place the circle on top the circle blocks the avatar.

If you mean with see through transparency like this -

you can open the red circle in Gimp and change the mode to RGB.(Image>Mode>RGB) - re open the image again.
Then open the other avatar image as a image (gimp-2.7 is what i used), change the mode to RGB - re open the image again.
Edit copy the red circle image paste into the other avatar image as a layer.
and save it as a png format.

Add an alpha channel to the red, by right clicking on the layer and left clicking the option that says "Add Alpha Channel'
Than select the color, with the color select tool :colsel

, that is outside the red No Circle layer and hit delete on you keyboard or navigate to select->Clear
Than you should be able see the general image through the red No Circle.
