So I just upgraded to 2.8 (love it for the main part so far) but it seems none of my brush pipes are loaded into the brush dialogues, I have checked and they are all there in the correct folders with my other brushes. Is there any way to load them or has support for them been dropped in 2.8?

GIH are still supported in Gimp-2.8.
Did you check the Edit>Preferences>Folders>Brushes paths to those folders and see if they are correct?
Also try and click refresh in the brushes dialog window. (at the bottom)

What does the error dialog say on load or refresh of brushes if anything?

Yeah I checked the brush folder paths they are all right, to the username/gimp 2.8/brush folder where the other ones are. And there is no error message.

You said earlier

Are all the brushes in the UserName\.gimp-2.8\brushes folder OR are there separate folders within the brushes folder? Because Gimp will not load any brushes inside separate folders that are inside the "brushes" folder, unless you have the PATH created to them.
I hope you are following me on this.

You should be able to place any
GIH
GBR
and most ABR extensions in the brushes folder and have them work when Gimp-2.8 loads.

I see thanks, that was the problem when I had downloaded them I didn't remove them from their own folde,r thanks Rod.

You sure about that rod? Unless 2.8 is different it should load brushes from within their own folders. I have all my 3rd party brushes stored that way.

I actually added my 2.6 brushes to 2.8 via the add link (Edit>Preferences then under brushes entry, just add the path) because I was too lazy to copy paste and I still have 2.6.12 installed too.

That'll make life easier when I transfer GPS.

about subfolders i found out that there is a limit of 15
if more happens a formatting error that will merge together any other path (and so what in the folder will be not loaded)
