I finally am getting ok with using sample points and matching the curves, I like this method...but something new has happened when I saved a file that I don't know how to fix. I have my xcf file that I was working on. When I opened it up today, there were still sample points on the pic. So I turned off each layer separately and they never went away...wtf???? How can I turn them off? I took a screen shot that shows every layer off, but you can still see them.

I am not sure of the current state of the Sample Points user interface, but last time I checked, the only way of removing them was to activate the Color Picker Tool (:colpick AKA Eyedropper) and hold down the CTRL key while dragging the Sample Point to one of the Rulers.

EDIT: It is not necessary to hold down the CTRL key to remove a sample point (but it doesn't hurt).

I know, right! I had never heard of them before, but learned about them from the tutorial that PatDavid linked to on my question about matching colors.
