I just got this computer last night and I'm trying to get all my programs installed and this is the first problem I've encountered that I can't seem to find a solution for. This computer is running Windows 8--64 bit. I apologize if this question has already been asked.

You should have libglib-2.0-0.dll with Gimp 2.8.4 in, Gimp 2\bin folder.

Yes, it's there. Do I need to move or copy it somewhere?

Do you have libglib-2.0-0.dll in your [user]\.gimp-2.8 folder as well?
If you have another copy in your user folder rename it to,
libglib-2.0-0.dll.old.
Restart Gimp and see what happens.

The only other thing I can think of is try moving it to,
C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins

Did you try adding the folder the .dll resides in to the system environmental variable path?

It should be the similar to how it's done in Windows 7. I don't use Windows any longer but hopefully, that will help.

Where did you get your copy of PSPI?
This is the authors site, PSPI.
There is only a 32-bit version but this should work on a 64-bit Win system.

I don't have Windows 8, but I have one more idea. In previous versions of Windows in file Properties | Compatibility tab you could change the behavior of PSPI.exe.

Well I have 2 Program Files folders. One is Program Files and the other Program Files (x86). The problem is that I also use Corel Paint Shop Pro and when I installed it, it automatically went to the Program Files (x86) folder and Gimp went to the Program Files folder. Do you think if I were to install Gimp into the Program Files (x86) folder, that it would work? My Paint Shop Pro and plugins work just fine.

Which version of Gimp 32 or 64?
If you have Gimp 32-bit use Program Files (x86) or Program Files for Gimp 64-bit. That could be the problem.
You could also have a look at, Partha's Gimp 64-bit.

When I tried installing Gimp into the Program Files (x86) folder, it did the same thing. I also tried changing the compatibility mode and it didn't work. I have Gimp 32 because I didn't know there was one for 64. Downloading it now though. Will see if that works. Thank you!
