Hi,

I can't seem to re-size images correctly today. Worked fine yesterday in 2.8 - hasn't worked today at all. I even downloaded and installed 2.8.4 in case my old version was outdated but hasn't made any difference.

Also - yesterday I could print from within Gimp 2.8 and today I can only print in 8.5 x 11 size no matter what page setup or size I use to create the background (been trying to make 8.5 x 14 legal size)

I finally tried printing from outside gimp and that works fine and the print job comes out the right paper size.

However, when I scale an image to a .750 inch width - it looks right when I scale it and the image properties show the size is exactly .750 width but when I copy and paste onto the background the image is much larger. I have checked to make sure that the image actually prints larger and it is definitely not .750 wide.

Any idea how I can fix this or what I'm doing wrong?

If you are using Gutenprint, make sure you have checked the option "Use Original Image Size" (which appears in the lower-right of the dialog).

What do you see when you check, Image | Print Size?

not using Gutenprint -actually don't even know what that is

If I check Image/ Print size it's exactly what I set it at - even worse today...I tried re-setting the 4 images I'm having the issue with - I go outside Gimp to print and the image is now almost the full size of the 8.5 x 11 paper I tested on...

frustrating as I have a Friday deadline for these designs...

Anyone other ideas?

Have you tried a reset in Gimp Edit | Preferences?

not sure what you mean? How do I reset and what am I trying to reset?

At the bottom of the Preferences window you will see a reset button.Remember though this will set Gimp to it's default startup.
