tiff image exported to eps

Hello,

I guess this is a very basic question, but I'm a n00b, so here it goes:

I have a tiff image I created using libreoffice draw and I have to convert it to eps. I used Gimp to export the tiff image to eps, but, I wonder, does this process also changed the pixel-based image to a vector-based image? or is it still pixel-based?

i dont know what eps is, but im very sure that changing the file-format doesnt turn pixels into vectors

you can vectorize bitmaps in a vector-program like Inkscape but the result is not necessarily great

Although eps file can store both vector and raster elements, if your GIMP file (that is xcf during GIMP session, other file formats exist only as input/output docs from GIMP perspective) did not contain any vector data - paths, text layers - simple file conversion does not create vectors.

Vector formats (svg, ai), btw, are not necessarily 100% vector files and can store pixels too.

Libre Draw is a vector editor, I would suggest you directly export to eps.

Libre Draw is a vector editor, I would suggest you directly export to eps.

Open it in a text editor.

Bonjour,

EPS, PDF = ... and/or pixel and/or vector and/or font

To convert :

libreoffice draw > export to PDF

With GhostScript :
Convert PDF to EPS.
