I'm trying to apply the same perspective to multiple layers. Is there a way I can do this in Gimp 2.6.11?

I guess an example is needed... Sorry that I don't have any images to offer as an example.

lets say I have 10 layers, I want to apply a perspective transform effect using the perspective tool to 8 of these 10 layers and I want the 'perspective' to be identical with each layer.
How would I do this without making a note of all the changes/variables made by the perspective tool to create a specific perspective made on a single layer?

yeah i was suggesting adding guides to help find the edges of the perspective tool, but i tried it and its kind of hard

have you tried the G'MIC perspective filter (thats under deformations) with the Boundary set to Nearest ?

I've tried that and have found that there's very little control over the outcome and have abandoned this option.

If I set a specific perspective using the perspective tool, for a single layer. How can this specific perspective be applied to other layers?

You would think there should be a way to be able to save a specific perspective made using the perspective tool, but I haven't been able to accomplish this.

Link the layers you want to transform. Link works for all transform tools.

How do I 'Link the layers' in Gimp 2.6.11?

Toggle on the link icon of the layers you want linked in the layers dialog.

In layers panel click on area next to visibility (an 'eye') icon, you'll see a chain links icon. Link all the layers you need and
do a perspective transformation.

Wallace, I see you solved the problem. :)
Are you doing an animation? In the future have a look at AnimStack. AnimStack is very powerful it works well with layer groups too.
Filters | Filter all Layers (comes with GAP) is pretty handy as well.

Thanks Odinbc.
Although I'm not making an animation, I'll have a look at that as well. ;)

You're welcome Wallace!

It's interesting how flexible gimp is. Linking layers is a powerful function in conjunction
with transformation tools (move, align, rotate, shear, flip, etc.). What even more
exciting is that the developers came up with Transformation Lock function (this thread) which will be featured
in 2.10.
