@dinasset

Updated to your new plugin, updated to RobA's 1.3 script and a quick test, but all seems ok.

Many thanks for your help, Rich.
In a few days (awaiting possible different needs for fixes/improvements) I will let the amended version be published officially.

If I turn chisel on, the program gets stuck at "Removing color". I am running chisel.scm ver. 1.2 (20080812).

This is a truly odd error. When I saw the filename I went and looked for the file in the specified directory.
The file was there. It wasn't until later that I really read the error. It says Gimp couldn't recognize the file format XCF??

I went to the Gimp Plugin Registry and could only find chisel v1.2. I didn't see 1.3

Glad you got it running.
Please note that if you answers "No" to the parameter question: "do you have chisel script?", the filter works also without that script.

Hello,
Thanks for the new filter. When
I use the filter I get a flawless result.
Error messages are also output.

I can not add any images from the
error messages.

Greetings Hardy

Hardy, is not an error message, it's an informative message which tells you which stone pattern was used, so that if you get a very nice result you can keep track of the pattern used and select that one specifically, if you like.
(Note: if you want to switch from a selection performed by the filter to a selection performed by yourself, in addition to do the selection you have to reset the "Filter for patterns" parameter to "None"

Hello "dinasset",
there are about six error messages.
"Which stone pattern was used" is the first message.
If possible, I add the images of the error messages.

Greetings Hardy

These are the messages you may get:
"ERROR! Folder for patterns does not contain any valid pattern. Exit." (severe, due to a wrong selection of the patterns folder thru the "filter for names" parameter )
"warning: no appropriate colour found, chosen texture random = "+textureName (soft)
"chosen random = "+textureName (soft)
"chosen pattern="+chosenPattern (informative)

Hello,
These were my error messages.
Now everything is clear to me.

Best regards

Although the filter is now working, I still get the error that Gimp doesn't know the xcf file format. It's very strange!

PM, I think that message has nothing to do with this filter, it does not manage .xcf files.
It only "duplicates" your source image, which is certainly an .xcf being opened in Gimp, but that's all,
Does it occur with any source image you use?

Yup. It's been happening with all images so far.

By telling the filter not to flatten the image, I was able to use a different background than the brick.

It also adds a third bordering technique option, learned by Tin Tran, hard-bevel
(see http://gimplearn.net/viewtopic.php?f=3& ... t=21#p4383 (thanks Tin !)) .
Code is embedded in the filter.
There are other little variations.
