Thanks Issabella, but from the names of your outcomes I do not understand whether you used MaxPixelColour (ancillary #2, hence a bit old) or the last one posted PlusColourContrast (ancillary #25).
Please clarify it to me.
They both "manipulate" -but in different manners- the colour with the greatest value.

I found another interesting filter among those pointed to by iarga's links in post #399 (a Japanese site):
"Particle Deposition".
Hence you need it to run this new filter of mines.
To save searching time to you, I post it here.
Unfortunately it is very slow.
Thus in my filter I limit the W+H dimensions of the work image (not > 1600) as well as the number of colour areas (no more than 15).
Defaults are: W+H = 800, nr.of areas = 7.
My filter applies differently generated "particles" to the chosen colour areas using colours from a randomly chosen gradient, iterating the call to the used plug-in for each colour area.
