I was asked about the SELF-SOM plugin I used to create an environment map as below

this plugin is available here at GimpChat for Gimp Win + sources

Self-Som GRAFT SELF - SOM (create colors) create a whole organized and harmonious color from a RGB image.

For the image to begin so blocky, it creates a surprisingly smooth result. :cool
