 Post subject: cant see the layers

When I save a file as .xcf and go back to work on it I can't see the layers. I know they are still there because the file name shows as .xcf and then how many layers - but the layers dock does not show them so that I can select them. Probably something simple again but if anyone could tell me what I am doing wrong I would appreciate it.

Location: not from Guildford after all
Look in your Layers Dialog menu to verify the "Auto follow active image" option is checked.
