I am interested to know how the attached graphic was created.
If it would not involve muvh work, can someone do a script for the effect.
Thanks.

ofn-gradient-along-path with a suitable (stepped) gradient, for instance (only for 2.10)

Yes; remembered having a lot of fun with, I believe this one, a few years back, ofnuts. I saw this guy's post, but couldn't remember the Script-fu. :)

Im not entirely sure what the effect is, but the posted image could be recreated by stroking a path with increasing width and reduce the opacity (of course this requires to stroke each instance on its own layer).

Another way is using the G'MIC Morphological Filter (with the Dilation option).

Dear Rich.
The effect you have created is very good..
Do you think you can post a mini tutorial explaining "Gaussian blurred and posterized".
Thanks a ton in advance.

You will get a better result with one of the more advanced methods, however this is quick.

1. Paint the shape with a suitable brush. screenshot https://i.imgur.com/TZ6jaxH.jpg

2. Apply a gaussian blur: Filters -> Blur -> Gaussian blur & adjust to suit: https://i.imgur.com/gl2WxVD.jpg

3. Use the Posterize filter: Colours -> Posterize and adjust to suit: https://i.imgur.com/KzWgkC0.jpg

You could easily achieve this effect by going into quickmask and stroking a path or drawing a single pixel line using white color. Then go out of quickmask and use the [Select] [Boarder] and give it a feather of whatever you want the thickness to be. Then [Edit] [Fill with forground or background to fill the selection with black on the current layer. Then draw a stair step using the Freehand curve type in the [Curves] dialog box. Or do the [Colors] [Posterize].

- Install ofn-gradient-along-path
- add attached gradient to your Gimp setup (or create your own)
- create a path
- in the Path list, right click the path, and "Decorate>Gradient along path"

Gimp 2.10 only...

[quote="ofnuts"]- Install [url=http://sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-path-tools/files/scripts/]ofn-gradient-along-path[/url]
Respected Ofnuts,
Thanks for your guidance.
My GIMP is 2.8.
I am hesitant to install 2.10.
I think it is high time all of us shift to 2.10.
Thank you once again.
