I don't know how 3d conversion (G'MIC)
but if it can decided which is parts of image is at different depths,
then maybe a filter that does Tilt Shift can be written.

Like if it would maybe let you select which part of image you want in focus then everything close to that depth stays in focus and as it gets further away from that range can be increasingly blurred.
That would be a cool filter i think.
