I've published a new GIMP 3 plugin: the Social Media Exporter. It exports any open image to as many social media/web sizes as you want, in a single pass. 33 built-in presets across 9 platforms, crop-to-fit or pad-to-fit, scale to dimensions, optional border, output sharpening, JPEG/PNG/WebP.

It automates the workflow I kept doing manually: duplicate, scale, fuss with borders, export, repeat. The idea comes from Greg Benz's Web Sharp Pro in Photoshop.

I tried using Batcher but it's not a good fit for what I need: one image, multiple social and web exports with one click. Batcher is a general-purpose batch processor that applies procedures to multiple input files. Resizing and exporting to social media sizes is possible, but you have to dig through multiple dialog levels, and it only exports to one format at a time. Also, Batcher installs 9 entries into GIMP's File menu, when only a couple would suffice with a little imagination. The Social Media Exporter adds one menu item and does more, more efficiently.
