Delete zlib1.dll from your plugin folder and it should work fine!

Not sure this is the right thing to do. It is likely a conflict between some zlib1.dll coming with Gimp and another zlib1.dll (obsoelete version of same, likely) elsewhere on the system (it is distributed with other programs), taken in account first (Googling for this shows that this problem also existed in 2.6).

It is very likely that getting a unique and up-to-date version of zlib1.dll will fix the problem for Gimp and still allow the other software to run.

Deleted the file myself and I've experienced no problems at all. And since deleting it, I've added more plugins and scripts, and have not had any problems with these either.

Not really a technical sort of person, just wanted Gimp to work and this was a simple solution which was the only thing that got me past all the error messages.

Got the advise from here; http://registry.gimp.org/node/26266
