photo shop artist>cutout colour smudging is different from the FU>artist>cutout effect in gimp. It redraws the edges of the colours into straight lines, which I think is a great effect. Is there a way to do that in gimp? Kind of like Cubism-I don't think Cubism in Gimp at the moment takes any account of the background image that it is working from. So it would be good to make an image into blocks based on the colours instead.

While the results produced are not even close to the straight lines of your example, I've played around a bit with my Quantize script and added a "Polygonal" option that attempts to straighten the edges between colors. (NOTE: I think I may have broken compatibility of the script with GIMP 2.6; I will investigate this in a day or two.)

Here is my avatar image after running the script.

Ok it's in colors>quantize. Thats an awesome effect here is a tarot card. The result card looks way better than the original which was upscaled from 200 300 pixels. Great thanks!!!

Do you think it's possible to make some of the lines many times larger kindof randomly? i.e. to resample the pic and make a triangle for any large mass of color relative to the color area's size?
