I have Gimp 2.8.10 (the version available from the partha site (I can't include the full reference because my question would be interpreted as spam) and Mac 10.6.8

When attempting to open a .psd file in the program I received the error message: "error loading PSDfile: unsupported color mode: CMYK".

I downloaded the folder "separate+-0.5.8" from the yellowmagic site etc. (I can't include the full reference because my question would be interepreted as spam).

README and README_ICC_COLORSPACE open the terminal. readme.jp.txt and readme_icc_colorspace.jp.txt are mostly nonsense e.g.

"ÅEäTóv
ÅEìÆçÏóvåè
ÅEópà”ǵǃǮÇ≠LJÇÃ"

Supposedly there are links to readme files on the yellowmagic site but the pages are not found.

Upon trying to open the original file once again I receive the original error message.

I'd be grateful for any help.

Separate+ will not work anyway. The separate-import plugin will only import a CMYK tiff.

If it is a .psd template, that you desperately need, then try and get someone to resave it in RGB format.

Otherwise, it is command line and ImageMagick.

A quick search and this is as good a description as any.

also the IM forum is always helpful and from memory there are Mac users there.
