If any body can tell me where This goes (plugins or scripts) and where to find it, I'd be forever grateful. Ok, nor forever but til the end of the week.

Initial steps should be these:
1-download it
2-remove suffix .txt (should remain .py)
3-put into your user/.gimp-2.8/plug-ins folder
4-it does not show (IMO), you just have to file>open a set of PS curves and it will perform the open function (I cannot try it, I don't have PS curves to open)

1. Right-click the attachment download link, select ´save link as...´. In the download window change ´Save as type´ to all files, it´s .txt by default. Remove .txt from the end and download.
2. Right-click the acv2gimp.py, properties, unblock, apply, ok. (crucial step, it will not be visible otherwise)
3. Place it in your plugins folder.

I know all of that, I've done this before.

Place it into gimp plugins folder.
Run from the command line Start>cmd.exe

python2 acv2gimp.py mycurve.acv -o ~/.gimp-2.8/curves/mycurve.crv

I've tried this script viewtopic.php?f=9&t=5541&p=69523&hilit=Photoshop#p69523
Didn't work for me.

P.S. btw in that thread there are some converted PS curves from my collection,
other thing, IIRC, PS uses more curve points than gimp,
so not all of the PS curves can be converted 100% correctly

I've tried other scripts that are said to convert ps to gimp but I've yet to find one that really works. I did everything suggested above before I posted but couldn't get any results. I hadn't tried running it from the command line. Honestly, I'm too lazy feeling to go through all of that right now, but I will.

Running those scripts from command line is the only way
they are supposed to work, so if you hadn't tried that then idk what you tried.
Scripts are not meant to register as menu items. But whatever...
