GIMP Version: 2.8.4
Operating System: Windows
GIMP Experience: Intermediate Level


I am indexing my images with the Cortex Command palette, but whenever I open them up again, they are RGB. How do I fix this.

Not all image file formats support Indexed colors.
DO support: GIF, BMP, PNG, TIFF, TGA, etc.
DONT support: JPEG, ORA, ICO, MNG, WebP, etc.

Even though you converted to indexed image but trying to save as, say, JPEG gimp will convert it back to RGB without notification :)
