Hey guys, I made this poster and tried to emulate the trendy style that a lot of dance music festivals are going for these days. Critique would be appreciated, if it's not too much trouble! :)

this is very good, no doubt

flowers, composition, text

im trying not to get a knee-jerk reaction to the term EDM, lol
but i know this is now all the hype in america

my only point of criticism is the fact that it kind of lacks contrast, which may make it hard to read from a distance

but overall it looks very professional

It's quite beautiful as an advertisement. As a poster, as Esper said, it will be hard to read unless you are up close to it. Also, what about time and cost, lol.

Wow, thanks for the kind words.

As far as the contrast goes, I agree. I'm going to work on it tomorrow to make it more readable. Does anyone think a tutorial would useful?

electronic dance music, mostly dubstep, as this is the big thing in america at the moment

I think a tutorial would be a great idea! :bigthup
About the contrast, the Solarized palette for Gimp can be useful when dealing with text.

Hey guys, so in the last couple of weeks I've redone the poster and made a tutorial for it (which ended up being way longer than I thought it was going to be). Here's the newer version.

They are both really nice and if I hadn't of seen the first post then this one would have been awesome, but I do prefer the colours of the first poster.

As to the readability of the poster, if you are planning on this being on boards and windows, then you only need to catch peoples attention with the main text, if then interested people will then approach the poster to find out more info.
