Drawing a 5 Pointed Star from Scratch...

Here's one way I've used to draw a 5 pointed star from scratch.

The most difficult are these 10 internal lines. The outer part of the star which was easy.

The idea is not to cheat. I just divided 360 by 5 and got 72. :hehe

I'm no where near close to being a mathematician.
BTW... There are only 5 internal lines drawn to form the 10 sides of the 5 star points.

hmmm - why not use the multireplicate or clone layer tools and do the whole thing that way? or if you wanted paths, you could make one straight path, duplicate it and rotate it a couple of times and get a nice five pointed star. i always get a bit impatient with preparations, i want to get to work on the fun parts at once

How can you say that, half the fun is trying to work out the maths needed to draw the shapes, or is it just me. :roll:

The reason I posted this, is due to the fact that lots of Gimp users might have no idea what your talking about when you say to use the "multireplicate or clone layer tools", or to use 'Gfig' and 'paths'. This way anyone can draw a 5 pointed star, that does not possess the knowledge of how to use those tools.
It's a straightforward way of doing it and free from ambiguity. All one needs to know is the basics, to be able to use this tutorial to draw a 5pointed star.

Hallo Wallace, nice tutorial but I have save single picture because that I can zoom in to read it.

By AnMal try get out of 'Gfig' a 5 pointed star but the had no horizontal line and Gfig I had never use before I had not even know that exist.

This new information has led me to try this technique.
Do not need the 5 internal lines centered. Much faster and easier!

My news results as that technique - bevelled star: (Still using the Star.svg Esper)
